Claude Tag brings MCP connectors into Slack workflows
@Claude in Slack can now call MCP-backed connectors — turning channel messages into deployment checks, ticket updates, and database queries without leaving the conversation.

The integration layer is moving to where teams already work. Claude Tag in Slack — mention @Claude with a task — can now reach external systems through MCP connectors instead of bespoke slash commands per tool.
Early workflows look familiar:
- Pull GitHub deployment status into a thread
- Query a read-only database for error patterns
- Summarize findings with a recommended next step
This is the same MCP tool model developers use in Cursor, transplanted into team chat. One protocol, multiple surfaces.
Why it matters: ops and engineering leads do not want another dashboard. They want answers in the channel where incidents already unfold.
